T.O.T.A.L.'s mission is to provide quality education and training to individuals with Autism or other exceptional needs and their
families to create a successful relationship within the family and community. TOTAL experienced, knowledgeable staff which will
support all members involved to accomplish this goal.
The goal of the TOTAL Programs is to enable persons with disabilities to prepare for living and interaction in their homes and
communities. Throughout the TOTAL process, the emphasis is on developing the skills necessary for independence in the
natural home and community settings. Through a partnership and collaboration with the individual clients, families, care
providers, and community members, TOTAL specialists assist in the instruction for family members to understand how to change
and modify challenging behaviors, while at the same time also assisting the individual with the disability to be more
self-determining through positive prosocial behaviors. Services are provided directly by TOTAL staff members with full
supervision.
All programs are individually tailored supports to assist persons with Developmental Disabilities to learn the skills necessary to
become a viable member of their community. These behavioral supports may be delivered in the home or community and may
include personal assistance, adaptive skill development, adult education supports, transportation, social and leisure skill
development, parent training, environmental modifications, clinical and medical supports, support planning, coordination and
administration. The person or his or her family has a person-centered supports agreement that includes an individual plan
describing the behavioral assessment, subsequent support and services to be obtained or provided and anticipated outcomes to
be achieved. Individualized supports may include self-directed supports or enhanced family supports utilizing the following
methods: Applied Behavior Analysis, functional communication training, precision teaching, and visual support methods of
organization (P.E.C.S. and T.E.A.C.C.H. methodology).
TOTAL works closely with numerous Regional Centers, School Districts, and provides intensive 1:1 Home/School interventions.
We are vendored by San Gabriel/Pomona Regional Center, East Los Angeles Regional Centers, Lanterman Regional Center,
Inland Regional Center, and in the near future we will be vendored by North Los Angeles and Orange County Regional Center.
TOTAL provides early intervention, positive behavioral supports, after-school programs, social skills training, and broader family
supports. TOTAL also works privately with families to assist in developing appropriate goals, reviewing intervention options, and
implementing comprehensive programs.

| T.O.T.A.L. Program Director Dr. Sean Surfas is a School Psychologist, Licensed Educational Psychologist, and Certified Behavioral Analyst formerly with Los Angeles County Office of Education-Division of Special Education and in-private consultation. Dr. Sean Surfas is currently an instructor at both California State University, Northridge and San Bernadino in their acclaimed Schools of Education. Dr. Sean Surfas continues to work closely with local school districts for both direct services and to assist in developing educational programs to fit the child's needs by providing psycho-education assessments and behavioral/academic interventions for children with Autism and other developmental and behavioral disabilities. |
